I just read an article entitled, “Ask an Expert: Go ahead, resolve to give yourself a raise” @ USATODAY.com and have “resolved” it to be a blog-worthy piece of writing. Rarely do I find such gems, but this one was a Blog This push-button must! Why? Plain and simple, the advice resonated with our own personal goals.
Up until now, we’ve worked hard for individuals and small business teams who’ve helped us acquire skills necessary for that next move. That’s a move we’ll announce about mid-2010 and it’s a move that will strengthen our presence in the online business industry. We’re not after a 6 digit income or goo-gobs of internet fans the way some other netpreneurs are. What’s happening instead, is that we’ve moved into a direction that deserves more exposure, more attention, and more public education.
By staying in the shadows — a normal role for a ghost writer, ghost programmer, ghost artist, etc., we feel we’re not fulfilling a bigger calling. So you can look forward to hearing about us on radio, in newspapers, and in magazines across the United States. You can also look forward to hearing us in seminars and workshops when we’re not acting as outsourcing consultants. We’re at a critical point in this nation, and we’re stepping up to the plate with a much-needed solution to a growing problem.
Give ourselves a raise.
Yes, because of our new commitments, our prices are going to rise. Increased rates are the only way we’re going to afford the new services we plan to provide — on the scale that we plan to provide them. If you’re concerned about the rate increase, send us an email and we’ll try to come up with a rate that’s comfortable for both of us.
Spruce up our website.
We’re not going to change the interface, but we will add more functionality. We believe the additions will help assimilate what we do offline into the online arena.
Bust a move.
Sorry Charlie, we already know how to dance. Just ask our mirror. In addition to becoming much more visible and interactive with the outsourcing industry, we’re also taking on a more aggressive approach to advertising. We believe this move will help us not only spread the knowledge we’ve gained about online outsourcing, but increase the positive experiences it offers as well.
Create a referral rewards program.
Hey, we’re big believers in sharing success! So look forward to many more opportunities to participate in a growing number of affiliate programs. We plan to offer referral rewards on more of what we offer to others, and we additionally plan to offer coveted finder’s fees as well. Details about this little opp will be made public later on.
Pay ourselves first.
Okay. So this isn’t really a resolution for us – especially since we’ve been doing this since The Dawn of DocuMaker <insert scary horror music here>. We just included this resolution for you so you’ll follow suit and finally think about yourself for once. In fact, we want you to think about all of these resolutions and ask how you can integrate them into your existing or future business plans. Our personal mantra for 2010 is “Think Bigger.” How about you? What do you want in 2010? The same of what you’ve got – or more of what you really want to get!?
Hopefully, you’ll join us and create some awesome resolutions for the new year. We also hope you’ll learn more about online outsourcing and discover how it can help you turn those resolutions into actual realities. Now let’s get busy… together.
